Performance and Efficiency Gains

The MHEV Plus system provides notable benefits in fuel efficiency and emissions reduction:

• In the A5 2.0 TDI (150 kW, front/quattro), it saves up to 10 g/km CO2 or 0.38 l/100 km.
• In the A5 3.0 TFSI V6 (270 kW, quattro), up to 17 g/km CO2 or 0.74 l/100 km can be saved.

Additionally, the PTG module allows for purely electric driving at speeds up to 140 km/h, disengaging at higher speeds to maximize efficiency. When decelerating, the PTG can recover up to 25 kW of energy through regenerative braking, reducing reliance on traditional friction brakes.

Enhanced Driving Experience

The MHEV Plus system improves both performance and comfort. The torque boost from the PTG enhances acceleration, making the car more responsive, particularly when starting from a standstill. The system also enables coasting with the engine off, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

In sport mode (S), the system prioritizes higher battery charge levels, ensuring more power is available for electric boosting and sporty driving dynamics. Meanwhile, in drive mode (D), it focuses on maximizing energy recovery and efficiency.
