Ready to Blaze New Trails – Audi Unveils Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept
Audi has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation and performance with the unveiling of the Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept at the world cup weekend in Kitzbühel, Austria. This prototype redefines off-road performance while delivering a glimpse of Audi’s future in the progressive electric SUV segment.
The Power of Electric Innovation
The Audi Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept is powered by two electric motors that deliver a combined output of 380 kW. With its advanced portal axles, the Q6 achieves an impressive torque increase at the wheels of 50%, allowing it to conquer steep gradients of up to 45 degrees effortlessly. This makes the Q6 not just a luxury electric SUV but a trailblazing off-road performer.
Audi has incorporated an increase of 160 mm in ride height and widened the track by 250 mm, giving the Q6 e-tron its commanding and rugged look. This concept embodies Audi's signature Vorsprung durch Technik, showcasing its potential to tackle challenging terrains while delivering an electrifying driving experience.
A Redefined Off-Road Driving Experience
What sets the Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept apart is its innovative use of four portal axles developed from scratch. These axles provide remarkable torque and efficiency, with a peak combined torque of 13,400 Nm at the wheels. While its top speed is capped at 175 km/h, this limit is ideal for off-road functionality and ensures optimal performance on rugged terrains.
Gernot Döllner, Audi CEO, expressed his excitement about the Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept, describing it as "a reinterpretation of quattro." He highlighted its ability to pave new paths for the brand and offered a preview of the potential that Audi’s electric platform holds.
Built on a Strong Foundation
The Audi Q6 e-tron, the basis for this offroad concept, is the first production model built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). This platform establishes a new benchmark in electric mobility, offering exceptional range, efficiency, and charging performance.
