BMW at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed: Unveiling the Future

The 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be a significant event for BMW, marking the world premiere of the new BMW X3 and another major debut from the BMW Group. On Thursday, July 11th, at 10:30 am (BST), BMW's Trackside stand will unveil these groundbreaking vehicles.

World Debut: The New BMW X3

The highlight of BMW’s showcase is the unveiling of the new BMW X3 M50 xDrive. This fourth-generation Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) continues the BMW X3 legacy, which began over 20 years ago. The X3 M50 xDrive features the most powerful six-cylinder in-line petrol engine ever fitted in an M Performance model, delivering 398 hp. The 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo engine, paired with 48V mild hybrid technology, achieves 0-62 mph in just 4.6 seconds.

Exciting UK Debuts

The UK debut of the BMW M4 CS will captivate motorsport enthusiasts. The M4 CS, powered by a high-revving 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, boasts 550 hp. Its lightweight design and model-specific chassis tuning allow it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds. Additionally, the ground-breaking BMW XM Label will be showcased, further solidifying BMW’s commitment to performance and innovation.

Iconic Racing Cars and Concepts

Festivalgoers will witness the BMW M Hybrid V8, fresh from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, tackling the 1.16-mile course. This return to the top category of Le Mans in the Hypercar class marks 25 years since BMW's 1999 victory with the V12 LMR. BMW Group Classic will also feature historic racing icons like the BMW 318i touring car, driven by Johnny Cecotto, and the BMW 2002 TIK, driven by HRH Leopold Prince of Bavaria.

At the Stable Yard, BMW will showcase luxury and technological advancements with the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, the BMW Concept Skytop, and the innovative BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA, which features color-change technology by artist Esther Mahlangu. The display will also include the luxurious BMW i7 and the recently launched BMW i5 Touring, alongside BMW Motorrad’s urban electric mobility solutions, the BMW CE 02 and CE 04.

Two-Wheeled Marvels

BMW Motorrad will present the BMW R20 concept in the ‘First Glance and Road Bikes’ category. This design masterpiece, with its legendary air-oil cooled Big Boxer engine, was recently unveiled at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Additionally, the classic BMW R255/1 Compressor from BMW Group Classic will be showcased in ‘Batch 4’.
