The 2025 virtual racing season marks an exciting collaboration between BMW M Motorsport and iRacing as the motorsport giant becomes the "Official Safety Car Partner" for iRacing's most significant events. This partnership not only underscores the growing integration of real-world automotive brands in the virtual racing domain but also highlights BMW M Motorsport’s commitment to engaging with enthusiasts on every platform.
BMW M2 CS Racing: The Star Safety Car
The BMW M2 CS Racing, a popular entry-level model on iRacing since December, will take center stage as the safety car in major events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Nürburgring 24-hour race, and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Equipped with a distinctive safety car roof beam and a bespoke design, the BMW M2 CS Racing will guide participants during formation laps, emulating the thrill and professionalism of real-world racing.
The M2 CS Racing is no stranger to the spotlight, as it has already become a favorite among iRacing’s nearly 300,000 members. With its realistic handling and performance, it offers an authentic experience for both novice and experienced drivers. For 2026, its successor, the BMW M2 Racing, is set to make waves on real racetracks, promising an exciting evolution for BMW's motorsport lineup.
A Tradition of Excellence
BMW M Motorsport has a longstanding history of providing safety cars, dating back to 1999 as the "Official Car of MotoGP™." This latest venture into virtual racing aligns with their innovative approach to bridging the gap between real and simulated motorsport experiences.
