Cadillac Racing Expanding to Two-Car Hypercar Program
Cadillac Racing is set to elevate its presence in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with an exciting expansion to a two-car factory program, named Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, starting from the 2025 season. This announcement marks a significant milestone for Cadillac as it continues to compete at the highest level of motorsport, demonstrating its commitment to excellence and innovation.
John Roth, Vice President of Global Cadillac, expressed the brand's enthusiasm: "Cadillac is proud to be racing against the best in the world as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and that includes Hertz Team JOTA. Hertz Team JOTA, based in England and partly owned by affiliates of Knighthead Capital Management, LLC, is sponsored by global car rental company Hertz and seven-time champion and entrepreneur Tom Brady. The team entered the Hypercar class as a privateer in 2023, currently running two cars in the WEC with another manufacturer. Their remarkable achievements include a historic first overall victory for a private team in Hypercar at the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and a runner-up finish at the season-opening Qatar Airways Qatar 1812 Km. Hertz Team JOTA leads the FIA World Cup for Hypercar private teams, showcasing their competitive edge.
Cadillac Racing’s Stellar Performance
Cadillac Racing's inaugural WEC season was highlighted by a third-place finish in the centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans. The No. 2 Cadillac V-Series.R also secured top-five finishes at Sebring, Portimão, and Spa-Francorchamps. In addition to its WEC endeavors, Cadillac Racing runs a two-car Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) factory program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In 2023, Cadillac Racing swept the GTP full-season and IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup manufacturer, team, and driver championships with Action Express Racing and the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R.
The Future of Cadillac Racing
The Cadillac V-Series.R represents the third generation of Cadillac prototype racecars and the brand's first hybrid electrified racecar. Developed in collaboration with Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and chassis constructor Dallara, the racecar incorporates key Cadillac V-Series production car design elements, such as vertical lighting and floating blades. Cadillac Racing will announce its 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship plans at a later date.
