Dubai to Host "L’Etape Dubai" Cycling Race Presented by the Tour de France in 2025
Dubai is set to host the prestigious "L’Etape Dubai" cycling race, presented by the Tour de France, on February 2, 2025. Organized by Belton and Be Cool Events in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, and sponsored by Škoda Cars, this iconic event is designed for amateur cyclists and is one of the most famous races in the world. The event brings the legacy and history of the Tour de France, the oldest cycling race in the world, to the vibrant city of Dubai, marking another significant addition to the UAE's growing calendar of sporting events.
A New Chapter for Dubai’s Cycling Scene
The inaugural edition of "L’Etape Dubai" was announced during a press conference at the Dubai Sports Council headquarters. The announcement was attended by prominent figures, including His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General, and Maher Julfar, Executive Vice President of the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is expected to be a major milestone in Dubai's cycling scene, attracting participants from across the globe.
During the announcement, the official race jersey featuring Dubai's most iconic landmarks was unveiled, adding a unique local touch to the event. The race will consist of four components held over two days. On February 1, the event will kick off with a Kids Race and a Family Ride, allowing families and young cyclists to participate. The main race day on February 2 will feature the "L’Etape Dubai" race over a 110 km distance and "The Ride" covering 60 km.
Bringing the Tour de France Experience to Dubai
Dubai joins a prestigious list of global cities hosting the "L’Etape" race, which was launched in France in 1993 and expanded internationally in 2015.
