Dubai's RTA Revolutionizes Public Transportation - Streamlined Bus Routes for Effortless Commutes

November 22, 2023
In strategic move to further streamline daily commutes and enhance the efficiency of public transportation, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced significant changes to several public bus routes effective from November 20, 2023. These adjustments aim to provide riders with smoother and more hassle-free journeys, reinforcing the commitment to making public transport the preferred choice for commuting within the emirate.

One of the key changes involves the renaming and restructuring of specific bus routes to improve the overall flow of transportation. Route 11A will be succeeded by Routes 16A and 16B, with 16A connecting the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department, Al Awir Branch, to the Gold Souq Bus Station, and 16B covering the return journey. Similarly, Route 20 will be replaced by Routes 20A and 20B, and Route 367 will be succeeded by Routes 36A and 36B, all designed to optimize the daily movement of riders.

In addition to the restructuring, certain modifications have been introduced to specific bus routes. Route 21 will no longer serve the Onpassive Metro Station, while Route 24 will now terminate at Dubai Festival City, aiming to reduce travel time. Route 53, on the other hand, will be extended to the International City Bus Station, contributing to improved connectivity.

Further changes include the shortening of Route F17, F19A, and F19B to enhance travel efficiency. Route H04 will be diverted to pass through Hatta Souq, introducing a more direct route. These adjustments collectively aim to shorten travel times and ensure faster arrivals at riders' destinations.

The RTA has also prioritized accessibility improvements, relocating Metro Max Bus Stop southward to Metro Max Stop 2 at the service road for Routes 10, 21, 27, 83, 88, 95, 32C, 91A, X28, X92, and X94. For Routes 29, 61, and C26, the Metro Max Stop location has been shifted to Al Jaffiliya Bus Station. These adjustments reduce walking distances to buses, making public transport more convenient for commuters.

The RTA's Public Transport Agency is dedicated to enhancing journey times for 33 other bus routes, including Routes 5, 15, 21, 24, 28, 31, 34, 44, 50, 51, 53, 61, 64, 95A, 96, C04, C28, E102, F01, F15, F26, F17, F19A, F19B, F24, F30, F31, F41, F48, F53, F54, F81, and H04. These improvements underscore the RTA's commitment to providing a more efficient and integrated public transportation network.

Dubai's RTA continues to prioritize the enhancement of public transportation, integrating bus routes with other modes such as the metro, tram, and marine transport. By creating seamless connections and optimizing routes, the RTA aims to make public transport the preferred and convenient choice for commuters, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient transportation ecosystem in the emirate.
