Ford Debuts All-New Mustang GTD at Le Mans

The all-new Ford Mustang GTD made a spectacular European debut at Le Mans, showcasing its enhanced performance features, driver-focused interior, and innovative design. This high-performance vehicle is setting a new standard for sports cars with its advanced technology and bold styling.

Performance Package: Unmatched Agility and Speed

The Mustang GTD's Performance package is a standout feature, designed to achieve a sub-7-minute lap time on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. This package includes dive planes and a larger splitter on the front fascia, underbody flaps, and a drag reduction system for the rear wing. These active aerodynamic elements optimize drag reduction while maintaining aerodynamic grip during cornering. Additionally, the Lightweight package enhances the car's agility by removing sound-deadening material and adding 20-inch magnesium wheels and a unique front fascia. Driver-Focused Interior: Precision and Comfort

The Mustang GTD's interior is meticulously designed to enhance driver confidence and focus. Standard Recaro seats work in harmony with a new Mustang GTD steering wheel, which features premium Dinamica inserts, a leather wrap, and carbon fibre accents. Unique to the Mustang GTD are steering wheel buttons that allow drivers to adjust suspension firmness and exhaust mode without taking their eyes off the road.

The interior also includes oversized, 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, which provide better grip and control. The rotary gear selector on the centre console is trimmed with titanium, adding a premium touch to the driving experience. Design Manager Anthony Colard stated, "Mustang GTD does far more than elevate the Mustang’s performance envelope. It brings a new, more focused, premium feel to the cabin."

Motorsport-Inspired Styling

The Mustang GTD’s Chroma Flame paint, a deep burgundy shade, was a highlight at Le Mans. This paint is one of six standard colours available for the Mustang GTD, including Polymimetic Gray, Race Red, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Lightning Blue. The Carbon Series trim features exposed carbon fibre on the bonnet, roof, and rear Tech Deck, paired with Magnetite-finished wheels.

The Mustang GTD also integrates advanced software with the Unreal Engine gaming technology powering the SYNC 4 infotainment system. This system features GTD-specific welcome and farewell graphics on the 13.2-inch touchscreen and 12.4-inch reconfigurable digital gauge cluster.
