Maserati MSG Racing Launches the Tipo Folgore for Season 11 of Formula E in Madrid

In a spectacle of speed and innovation, Maserati MSG Racing recently unveiled the much-anticipated Maserati Tipo Folgore, marking their entry into the Season 11 of the FIA Formula E World Championship. This unveiling took place during the pre-season testing at the Circuito de Jarama in Madrid, a last-minute change prompted by the unfortunate floods in Valencia. Maserati expressed their condolences to those impacted by this natural disaster, underlining the event with a note of resilience.

The Maserati Tipo Folgore, a name resonating with the power and elegance of lightning, showcases a futuristic livery in Maserati’s iconic blue, accented with rose gold that hints at the electrifying advancements embraced by the brand. This aesthetic update isn’t just for show; it narrates a century of racing heritage, encapsulating 110 years of Maserati's triumphs. The livery design integrates historical elements, seamlessly blending them with a modern touch that pays homage to legendary victories and the legendary drivers who achieved them.

Klaus Busse, Maserati's Head of Design, shared his enthusiasm about continuing the legacy of integrating Maserati's racing DNA with the latest advancements in electric mobility. "This year's design aims to celebrate our rich history in motorsports, while pushing forward the narrative of electrification, embodied by the distinctive Folgore copper color," said Busse.

The new Tipo Folgore isn’t just a treat for the eyes. It’s equipped with the GEN3 Evo package, the most advanced configuration available in the Formula E circuit. This machine boasts phenomenal capabilities, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 1.86 seconds. The vehicle’s regenerative braking system is equally impressive, capable of recuperating 600 kW, which allows half of the energy used in a race to be generated through this process.

The unveiling in Madrid kicks off an intense pre-season, where Maserati MSG Racing is not only testing their new electric marvel but also promoting gender equality in motorsports by featuring Tatiana Calderon and Carrie Schreiner in an all-female test session. This initiative is a nod towards inclusivity in a typically male-dominated arena.

Looking ahead, the Maserati Tipo Folgore is set to debut in the opening race of the championship in São Paulo on December 7, 2024. Cyril Blais, the Team Principal of Maserati MSG Racing, highlighted the team's commitment and pride in representing such a storied brand. "Carrying the legacy of Maserati into the electrified era of motorsports is not just an honor but a continuation of the brand’s pioneering spirit in the world of high-speed competition."

As Maserati continues to push the boundaries of electric performance, the Tipo Folgore is more than a race car; it's a beacon of innovation and a testament to the enduring spirit of Maserati in the racing world. For fans of electric vehicles and high-performance sports cars in Dubai, the Maserati Tipo Folgore represents the zenith of automotive evolution, embodying a perfect blend of speed, style, and sustainability.
