RTA Prepares to Celebrate 15th Anniversary of Dubai Metro with Exciting Activities and Surprises

Under the theme "15 Years on Track," Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, a symbol of modern public transportation in the city. To mark this milestone, RTA has planned a series of promotional and entertainment activities, special surprises, and initiatives designed to bring joy to residents and visitors from around the globe.

Celebrating 15 Years of Dubai Metro

Since its launch in 2009, the Dubai Metro has become an integral part of the city’s infrastructure, offering an efficient and reliable mode of transportation to millions of people. As part of the 15th-anniversary celebrations, RTA has partnered with several sponsors and organizations, including Keolis-MHI, the operator of Dubai Metro and Tram, as a Strategic Partner. Other campaign partners include LEGO Middle East, LEGOLAND Dubai, IGLOO, Al Jaber Gallery, and Emirates Post, all contributing to a festive and memorable celebration.

Special Initiatives and Exciting Offers

Several unique initiatives are planned to mark the occasion:

• Limited Edition Stamps and nol Card: Emirates Post will issue limited-edition stamps dedicated to the Dubai Metro's anniversary, a treat for collectors. Additionally, RTA will launch a Special Edition nol Card featuring the campaign's logo and an exclusive design by LEGO Middle East.
• Souvenirs and Collectibles: Al Jaber Gallery will offer a range of exclusive souvenir products related to the Metro, allowing residents and visitors to take home a piece of this iconic public transport system.
• Metro Babies Celebration: LEGOLAND Dubai will host a special celebration on September 21, 2024, for "Metro Babies" — children born between September 9, 2009, and the same date in 2023. Parents of these children can register them for the celebration via RTA's website (www.rta.ae).
• Limited Edition Metro Ice Creams: IGLOO will offer limited edition ice creams shaped like the Dubai Metro. Excitingly, 5,000 of these ice creams will contain a special code on the sticks, with winners receiving one of 5,000 nol Terhaal discount cards.

Dubai Metro Music Festival and Entertainment

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, from September 21 to 27, visitors at Dubai Metro stations can enjoy a series of live musical performances by Emirati and international musicians. These performances are part of the 4th Dubai Metro Music Festival, organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government’s Media Office. The festival is a popular event, drawing large crowds each year and adding a unique cultural experience for both residents and tourists.
