Derived from the S 1000 RR, this powerplant is tuned for maximum riding pleasure, with shorter gear ratios and shorter secondary gear ratio for heightened thrust and traction on both country roads and race tracks.
A key focus in the M 1000 XR development was aerodynamics. The addition of winglets enhances lap times on the race track and ensures optimal riding stability at high speeds. These winglets generate aerodynamic downforce, increasing front wheel load by approximately 12 kg at 220 km/h. The result is improved braking, reduced wheelies, and earlier acceleration.
