The BYD Leopard 5 is a hybrid off-road SUV developed under the Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand. Designed to compete with rugged vehicles like the Toyota Land Cruiser, it combines advanced hybrid technology with a focus on luxury and off-road capability. The Leopard 5 features a plug-in hybrid system with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, producing a combined output of around 505 kW (670 hp) and 760 Nm of torque. It supports both 4WD and sophisticated off-road features like three differential locks, as well as height-adjustable hydraulic suspension for improved performance across different terrains【7】【8】. With a 31.8 kWh battery, it can travel about 125 km (78 miles) in electric-only mode, while the combined range with the gasoline engine extends to 1,200 km (746 miles). The SUV also supports fast charging, capable of recharging from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes【8】【9】.
